“The stunning beauty of the land and my concern for its disappearance through development and degradation are the inspiration for this new series of local landscape paintings. They are at once a glimpse, as from a moving car, and a prolonged inhalation. As I paint, it as if I am standing both inside the scene and observing it from without. Each scene I have chosen to paint is filled with personal meaning and connection to a particular place. The paintings are as much about paint as they are about place.” – Paula Gottlieb
