Fine Art: Penelope Bennett
Penelope Bennett was born in London, England and received her early education there. Later she attended college in the United States. She has lived in New England in recent years, and before that lived for many years in Catalunya, Spain. Her life has been spent in art, having at times designed, made animated movies, produced public art graphic murals, and made fine art.
These artworks are limited edition hand-pulled prints in a linoleum technique invented by the artist for this series. This unique printing method emphasizes the form of the image floating on the white page (in this case, Arches cold-pressed paper). In addition, the painterliness of these images relies on the use of non-opaque ink printed on top of an opaque silhouette ground.
