: John Gnatek
Forests, Farms, and Riverways: 50 Years of Kestrel Land Trust
Nobody knows the area better than John Gnatek. As a teen he started doing murals for the Big E and he has been documenting the region ever since. For over 50 years John has created a lasting visual record of the changing seasons and transforming storefronts that we in Western Massachusetts call home.
John was born and raised on a small farm in Hadley, Massachusetts. It was here that he and two of his brothers, Michael and Frank, studied under local artist Stephen Hamilton of Amherst and began their careers in art. R. Michelson Galleries is proud to present his depictions of our ever-changing Pioneer Valley.
