From the Vault: Larry Preston

Larry Preston was Born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1951 where he spent most of his time admiring the work of Flemish still life painters at the Worcester Art Museum. This admiration of technical skill led Preston to develop his own unique skill for still life and landscape. His work often represents the intimacy of the everyday, as his still life’s often feature a single, familiar object. The paintings are completed with great care and detail, resulting in depth and an illuminated quality to the subjects. His work has won several awards including The Artist’s Magazine, The Art Calendar and many juried art exhibits and competitions.  He has also been a featured artist in The American Artist Magazine (2005) and in American Art Collector (2007, 2009, 2011, and 2013). His work can be found in both national and international collections.
