From the Vault: Keith Reynolds
Keith Reynolds (1929-2024): Was born in Seattle, Washington, spending his childhood on the Puget Sound. Influenced by his close proximity to the ocean, his work often takes on the themes of vast tranquility the water possesses. He went on to study Fine Art at the University of Oregon, before serving in the military in the Sea of Japan. Following his service, he received his Bachelor’s of Professional Arts Degree from the Art Center College of Design. He Began his artistic career as an illustrator, being a member of the American Society of Illustrators since 1964. His professional career ranged from working as a graphic designer and design consultant to institutions such as Colonial Williamsburg, The Smithsonian Institute, and The Hayden Planetarium, and opening his own film production company, however he soon became recognized for his work once he published his first limited edition serigraph in 1980. Since then, his work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is represented by galleries around the world. His work has appeared editorially in such publications as Yacht Digest, Milano, Italy, Boat Now, Japan, Sail and The Yacht Magazines, U.S.A.
