From the Vault: Pegge Hopper

Pegge Hopper was born in Oakland, CA and studied painting at the Los Angeles Art Center’s College of Design, before Living in Milan, Italy from 1961-1963, and working as an illustrator for laRinascente. Pegge moved to Honolulu in 1963 and became a art director for a local agency.  She became deeply inspired to paint by visiting the local State Archives, and viewing images of native Hawaiians, this inspiration is evident within her artwork.
